Hawaii Deep Ocean Drinking Water

Desalinated water is water that has come from deeper levels of the sea, being pumped through a number of treatments to remove the salt from salt water.  Those who drink the desalinated water say it is some of the best they have ever had.  It stands to reason as, for the most part salt is the only thing being removed and very little is being added.  Normal tap water must go through a series of treatments to remove dirt, pollutants, and minerals while simultaneously adding a variety of chemicals to keep the water clean in its journey from the treatment plants, through the pipes, and into your sink.

Even with the abundance of the natural resources of seawater, and its relatively rapid growth in popularity, only a handful of companies have jumped on the bandwagon to become the first and foremost producers of bottled seawater.  These companies are at the forefront of a technology which only continues to grow in its popularity, increasing profits on a steady basis.  As the desalinated water products become more popular, they will be more available, and these few companies are the ones who stand to make the best, as they have already established themselves as experts in a burgeoning field.

The other reason the desalinization of salt water has yet to catch on so much is the relatively large cost in turning salt water into fresh drinking water.  An expensive and high specialized infrastructure is required.  Beyond that, the process requires a large amount of energy.  The largest producers of desalinated water are by far and away located in the Middle East.  With relatively scare drinking water supplies yet large resources of capital from oil, these countries find it easier than others to produce desalinated water.  The largest desalinated water plant in the states is located in Tampa Bay, Florida.  However, where the movement has really picked up is in Hawaii.  A number of companies in Hawaii have been producing desalinated water for years.  Some have also started experimenting with mobile desalinization plants.  Five of the largest producers of the Hawaii drinking water from seawater are Deep Seawater International, Enzamin USA, Hawaii Deep Ocean Water, Koyo USA Corporation, and Savers Holdings LTD.
